The Republic of Ghana
Today Ghana is much smaller and to the south of where it used to be. They love football there and they where the last African team in the world cup.
They are now a democracy. They are part of the common wealth and they achived independance from brittian in 1957. They are one of the biggest coca bean producers in the world!
How Ancient Ghana has influenced Ghana today.
Today Ghanas most common religion is Islam after christianity which was brought there in the 14th century . Islam first came to Ghana with Islamic traders and people didnt really convert imediatly. Today in Ghana no fights because of what they believe in like in many other African countries and Islamic countries in the middle east. I think this is related to how the Ancient Ghanaian empire treated the Muslim traders with respect. I think that their culture has been changed alot because of all the European countries that came to Africa trying to colonize it. To day education in Ghana is alot better then what it was like back in Ancient Ghana where normally boys where tought about trade and other jobs that they had at the time. Now 28% to 40% of ghanas spending is on education and classes are tought in english. Now 95% of children in Ghana go to school so Ancient Ghanas education hasnt really influenced Ghana today. Today people in Ghana wear normal cloth clothe like most of the world unlike the cloth they wore in Ancient Ghana.
